There are two kinds of experience that matter in family photography - professional experience and experience as a mum. Luckily, I have both.
​
A professional photographer for the past 15 years, I have captured the joy and memories of so many families in hospital, at clients' homes and in local parks. I know that at a family photo shoot, the most important thing in order to create images of little ones which will parents will cherish is to make the shoot fun! It should feel like a special time for the child and his/her family to run around, laugh and cuddle as if they weren't having a family photoshoot. The best family portraits will happen when children feel like they're having a day out with mum and dad.

For newborn photography, any family photographer worth her salt knows great pictures of babies is all about gorgeous natural light, patience and that lovely, cosy chaos of the family home. It's not just a baby photoshoot. It's about creating memories in front of the camera and ensuring the time is quality time. Clients often tell me how much they enjoyed being photographed and how it feels not like a business experience but a moment shared with friends that results in beautiful images.

A mother of two very energetic boys, I know how to get authentic, happy family portraits which tell a real family story. I already mentioned fun, but family photography must also be fast and furious. I'm usually exhausted from running, kneeling, chasing and laughing with London families after a family photoshoot. Even the most talented photographers cannot capture the kind of images that clients love if they don't have a rapport with children. It takes life experience and a true love of family to make the session fee worth it and result in a set of digital images which capture the age, joy and spirit of your son or daughter with his or her family.
